Weekend Tours Weekend Family Fun Rides Monday Sugar Bottom Loop
2sday 2wheelers Wednesday Evening Escapes Thursday Evening Leisure Rides Overview

Weekend Tours

These rides generally range from 15 to 60 miles+. Each month gives you a chance to explore all four corners of "the area". On some rides, there may be a variety of routes to choose from and/or multiple leaders. Routes may change based on weather conditions upon the day of the ride. Please contact the ride leader assigned to the particular ride for more information. Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride departure time, so that we may start riding on time.  Remember to get route info if needed from the website and/or from the leader, and to sign the bike liability sheet before each route departure. Ride cancellations will be posted on the main page at least 48 hours before the start of the ride.

Overview

The Bicyclists of Iowa City have so many rides during any one given week, there's surely one that you can attend even with your busy schedule. Beyond the sponsored rides, there are also "informal rides" - rides sponsored by an individual or a group that is a BIC member. You can also list your own ride(s) by contacting: bicyclistsofiowacity@gmail.com or by listing your ride in the forums. Directly e-mail the ride leader to get added to their e-mail list, so they can contact you when they organize a given ride (often 24-48 hours in advance, check your e-mail often!). Pay special attention to the details of any given ride, either formal or informal, so you can prepare yourself in advance. Rides can change with little notice depending on conditions and group preferences. And of course, helmets are required for all rides.

Weekend Tours go year round, while all other rides take place during the norm biking season (April 1st to October 31st, and perhaps further beyond if the weather is nice) Have a ride suggestion or are interested in being a ride leader? Send your recommendations to marvin-scher@uiowa.edu.

Send e-mails to bicyclistsofiowacity@gmail.com, for ride corrections or if you would like to lead one of the Show N' Go rides. It's never too late to volunteer!
